Meet Dr. Miguel Grillo

Nearly Four Decades in Dentistry
Born in the Dominican Republic and raised in New York City, Dr. Miguel Grillo has dedicated nearly four decades to dentistry. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Universidad Odontológica Dominicana in 1986, followed by advanced clinical training at New York University College of Dentistry's Institute for Foreign-Trained Dentists.
He completed postgraduate hospital training at Woodhull Medical and Mental Health Center in Brooklyn, including a PGY-1 General Practice Residency and a PGY-2 residency focused on the dental management of medically compromised patients. During this time, he also participated in the Ryan White Program, providing dental care to patients affected by HIV/AIDS.
Dr. Grillo later served as an attending dentist at Cumberland Diagnostic & Treatment Center in New York City and was selected as President of the Medical Staff, working alongside physicians, dentists, and other healthcare professionals in a multidisciplinary setting.
Clinical Experience and Practice
In 1994, Dr. Grillo established Grupo Odontológico Dr. Grillo in Santo Domingo, where he also participated in philanthropic medical and dental initiatives. After returning to the United States in 1998, he continued practicing in New York before establishing his professional and family life in South Florida.
In 2006, he founded Healthy Smiles Dental Group in Wellington, Florida. His clinical experience includes:

Leadership and Community Service
Dr. Grillo currently serves as President of the Dominican Dental Association of Florida, supporting professional education, collaboration, and community service. His career has also included mentoring students and younger healthcare professionals and providing care to underserved communities in both the United States and the Dominican Republic.
